Quinoa, described as a "superfood" or a "supergrain," is often used as a substitute for rice. It is commonly considered to be a grain, but it is actually a seed. Quinoa is considered a complete protein source because it contains sufficient amounts of all nine essential amino acids. It is also high in fiber, magnesium, B vitamins, iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin E and various beneficial antioxidants. Quinoa is also gluten-free.

    Your Pantry Essentials
A pan, a pot to boil Quinoa
Your preferred cooking oil, extra virgin Olive oil
    Salt and Pepper.
    Prepare your Ingredients
Skirt Steak: Keep it out of the fridge for 15 mintues to bring it to room temperature. Pat dry to remove moisture
    Rocket Leaves: wash and dry
Cucumber: wash and cut in cubes
Cherry Tomatoes: wash and cut in half
Red Radish: wash and cut into slices.
    Boil the Quinoa
Soak the Quinoa in water for about 2 minutes then put in a sieve and then rinse it under running cold water to get rid of the excess starch. Rinse for about 30 seconds or until the water runs clear. Bring some water to a boil. For every 100g of Quinoa, you will need 250ml of water.
Once the water starts boiling then add in some salt. DO NOT add salt until the water starts to boil.
Turn the heat to medium. Put the quinoa in and cover the pot. Let it cook for about 15 – 20 minutes.
Cook the Skirt Steak and Serve
Season the Steak with salt and pepper just before cooking it.
Heat a pan till it is almost smoking hot (Caution: dont overheat the pan). Add a touch of oil just enough to grease the pan.
Place the steak on the pan and cook for about 10 seconds, flip over and cook the other side, again for about 10 seconds.
Let is rest for about 5 minutes.

Salad: in a bowl add quinoa, cut vegetables and lemon dressing by Let's Dressing. Mix well.
